Most northern Utah engineering shops won't publish prices. We will. Every project gets a fixed fee before we start, and these are the ranges we live in.

Engineer letters & small calcs

Load-bearing wall removal letters, beam sizing for one opening, header design for an egress window cut, deck condition letters, post-repair certification.

$800 – $1,500

Inspections & small projects

Pre-purchase structural inspections, foundation evaluations with written report, deck design packages, simple addition calcs, retaining wall design (under 6 ft).

· Stamped deck or patio cover plans
· Retaining wall design (4-6 ft)

$1,500 – $3,000

ADUs, additions & medium walls

Full ADU structural plan sets, garage conversions, single-room or single-story additions, retaining walls 6-10 ft, foundation repair plans, pole barn engineering.

· Internal ADU stamped plans
· Garage-to-ADU conversion package
· Single-story addition calcs and stamped plans
· Pole barn or shop engineering
· Foundation repair design

$3,000 – $7,500+

Custom homes & complex projects

Full custom home structural design, second-story additions, large or tiered retaining walls, light commercial TI, change-of-use evaluations, multi-system projects.

Numbers above reflect typical 2025 pricing for northern Utah residential and light commercial projects. Every project is quoted in advance with a fixed fee — you'll never see a surprise hourly bill at the end.
